The Instructional Support (IS) team is comprised of dedicated specialists who collaborate with you so that together, we provide a high quality academic experience.

Important Note: Any expenses will be applied to your Program's budget. Please ensure you have acquired approval (from your program administrator) for any paid items before submitting the request. Should you not have the approval at the time of the request, our team will reach out to your Program budget approver via the ticket submitted.
I. What We Do - Manage Logistics
- Supervise space management
- Liaise with Columbia University departments such as but not limited to:
- Registrar
- Facilities
- Public Safety
- Columbia University Information Technology (CUIT) / SPS Tech
- OSAT Team
- Academic matters (e.g., schedule or reserve office hours, faculty/student meetings)
- Initial technical and classroom assistance
- Shipping/mailing (in coordination with SPS Facilities)
- Printing needs
- Support select general administrative tasks
II. What We Do - Semester Preparations
- Reserve and order course texts, readings, cases, and materials
- Academic matters (e.g., schedule or reserve office hours, faculty/student meetings)
- Support distribution of course information
- Reserve classrooms for final exams and provide materials for exams
- Communicate/build relationships with vendors outside Columbia University
III. What We Do - Class Preparations
- Classroom setup & reservations
- Name cards/table tents
- Audit of: maintenance, supplies, and technology of Lewisohn classrooms
- Exam preparations
- Printing and scanning
- Minor computer equipment, software, and supplies
III. What We Do - Program/Project Support
- Planning and executing academic events (intensives/ residencies/ block weeks)
- Provide in-person and online event support
- Obtaining department swag items
- Support school-wide events (orientation, graduation, liaise with departments’ end of year celebrations)
- Subscriptions and Memberships
- Newspapers, Journals, Online Advertising Fees
- Registrations for Conferences or Seminars
- Software
