Instructional Support Overview
The Instructional Support (IS) team is comprised of dedicated professionals who act as a nexus point of supporting the main goal of SPS, which is to provide a high quality academic experience for everyone in the classroom.
Think of us as “311” for SPS. If you are unsure who to contact, we will assist in the appropriate capacity and or point you in the direction of the department that will provide support. Who
The main roles on our team include:
- Instructional Support Supervisors - Our Supervisors oversee the administrative and logistical tasks for the SPS academic programs. This ranges from supporting academic directors, faculty, and staff. The Supervisor manages all day to day tasks including Zendesk tickets and Zendesk Talks. The Supervisors are available on campus during our office hours.
- Instructional Support Specialists - Our dedicated Specialists focus on data collection and serve as a direct point of contact for the various academic programs at SPS. They act as an extra layer of expertise in accommodating and preparing each administration group for their unique challenges throughout the school year.
- Instructional Support Assistants - Our energetic and detail oriented team of ISAs help with administrative and logistical management to all academic programs. This ranges from classroom scheduling/reservation, coordinating academic events, and oversight of Zendesk tickets and Zendesk talks. Every time you interact with our platform, on the other end there is an Instructional Support Assistant ready to answer and assist with any of your needs.

When
Instructional Support is available from 8am to 5pm regularly from Monday to Thursday, and on Friday from 8am to 4pm. Our office and pickup area is stationed in Lewisohn 214.
How
Instructional Support operate with a handful of applications and platforms to ensure that the optimization of our services is always at peak capacity. We use Zendesk, Zendesk Talks Call Center (1 (844) 654-9872), Zoom, and are regularly in person to help with a variety of items for the SPS community. We generally prefer and recommend using our platform first and foremost, as it is the most effective method of receiving your requests and or seeing any urgent emergencies related to your course or academic event.
